The Metropolis Image Denoising Plugin
The Metropolis Image Denoising Plugin (or EMT) is the result of our research and development of novel image reconstruction techniques designed to remove shot (or Poisson) noise from images acquired by CCDs in very low light level conditions. However, it soon became apparent that the technology can also used to remove other types of noise, including grain structure from scanned photos and JPEG artifacts from over-compressed images. Consequently it has been implemented as a plugin for imaging software such as Adobe™ Photoshop™ and is available for download now.
